Hatha yoga is the practice of physical exercises to prepare the body for meditation & energetic transformation. After a powerful asana practice, the stillness of the mind & readiness of the body to release promotes deep meditation; much like "the zone" buzz you might feel while running a couple miles, though intentionally tuned to create that higher state.
